After an early morning transfer to the motorbikes, we will get ready for the adventure tour that awaits. The graveled road of Kathmandu will take us out of the city, and we will follow the scenic route of the Prithvi Highway, running parallel with the powerful current of the Trishuli River. The road will wind over the mountains, offering you a refreshing breeze and views of the Lamjung and Annapurna peaks. We will continue our journey towards Besisahar, located in the beautiful Marshyangdi Valley, before tackling the final, more rugged off-road section to the village of Jagat.

From Jagat, we will have a slow test of our riding skills. The ascending track, although graveled, will frequently challenge us as we ride deeper into the Marshyangdi Valley. The green hills are slowly being replaced now by the icy giants of Himalchuli and Manaslu. The track now runs down, taking us to Tal, where our first Mani Wall encounter will be. There will be a lot of stones and dust as we steeply ride past Karte and Dharapani. We will turn west and drive towards Bagarchhap and then Chame, the important town of the Manang Valley. Leaving the main track, we will follow an overhanging path towards Ghyaru and Ngawal, before a brief 20-minute ride brings us to the exceptionally phenomenal village of Manang.

Manang has a wealth of exploration options. Early in the morning, we can take a brief hike to the stunning 4,130m high Chongkor Viewpoint, which is famous locally as Bodzo Gompa, for a spellbinding spectacle of the Gangapurna and Annapurna ranges. We can also explore the amazingly blue waters of Gangapurna Lake. We will now get ready to depart for Khangsar Village, the last village of the valley. From Manang, we will take a clear path that will take us to the merging point of two rivers. We will then leave the main trail and, in about an hour, be resting in the warm local lodge of Khangsar Village.

After leaving Khangsar, our trail will start to incline more sharply along the scree slopes. We will encounter a monastery before we arrive at Shree Kharka, the perfect spot for lunch. We will now progressively ride sharply along a path dominated by loose stones, small and large. It now goes downhill, and within an hour, we will cover a 6 km distance and reach Tilicho Base Camp. The camp has a few teahouses which will provide us with warm rooms to sleep in, with the massive face of the imposing Tilicho Peak watching over us.

We will have an early start today towards Lake Tilicho, which rests at an impressive elevation of 4,919m. We will choose to walk rather than ride as the trail to the lake is designed only for feet. From the base camp, we will begin climbing immediately along the scree slope for about 1.5 hours. Then, to our relief, we will meet flat ground for an additional 30 minutes of crossing until we reach the lake itself. Here we are at Tilicho, supposedly the highest lake, beneath Tilicho Peak, with a peaceful atmosphere enhanced by the presence of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After some admirable time here, we will now head back down to Tilicho Base Camp, where we will hop on our bikes and head back to Khangsar.
